Aliphatic resin is the “yellow” wood glue used by radio controlled model aircraft builders and for professional applications where hard woods are used. Compared to PVA, it dries dries stronger and crisper to give better better sanding qualities (particularly with balsa) and doesn't pull joints as it sets, resulting in better dimensional stability which is important for airframe construction. Aliphatic resin sets at low temperatures, is water resistant which makes it ideal for model boats, and can be stained once dry.
